The Phillies recently added three players from the independent league ranks. After the 2024 season, Lewis was released by the Dodgers and last May he signed with York. Miller, 26, was named the Atlantic League Player of the Week for the week ending June 7. He went 11-for-25 (.440) in six games at Gastonia last week, hitting three home runs, including his second grand slam of the season. He also drove in 10 runs for the Stormers. Boston drafted Miller in the ninth round of the 2021 Draft and reached as high as Triple-A Worcester in September of 2024, but played in just four games and went 0-for-8. He had an injury riddled season last year with Double-A Portland and hit just .201 in 82 games with the Sea Dogs. The Red Sox released Miller in March and he signed with Lancaster.

Lewis and Miller were both assigned to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

Stuart, 25, is making his debut in affiliated ball and was also assigned to Jersey Shore. He has played in the MLB Draft League for both the West Virginia Black Bears and the Williamsport Crosscutters and graduated from the University of Memphis. Stuart went undrafted and joined the New Jersey Jackals of the Frontier League this season. In 31 games, Stuart was batting .363/.420/.573/.993 with six home runs, 23 RBI, and 27 runs scored.
