Kruk and Tom McCarthy were served a chicken cutlet sandwich in the booth and as they both admired it, the video switched to Taryn Hatcher, who is a vegan, eating the sandwich but without the chicken, stating that “it’s a salad on a roll, it’s perfect.” Krukker, who is as far away from being a vegan as you can get, had to respond…
Kruk: “If I ever become a vegan, would you just punch me in the face as hard as you can?”

Kruk and McCarthy were just going about their business calling the game the Phillies and Mariners when Kruk’s mind started to wander. He came up with a thought provoking question for T-Mac…
Kruk: “You know how I think of things when I have free time, and I shouldn’t? So, I was wondering, the person who invented the clock…”
T-Mac: “Which one, the digital or the one with the hands?”
Kruk: “The first clock ever. How did that person know what time it was?”

During a long rain delay in Chicago, the pre-game show went to Kruk and Tom McCarthy for an update on the situation. As T-Mac explained that things didn’t look too good, Kruk looked exhausted and frustrated. Finally, he chimed in:
“Well, Michael (Barkann), the hope is that we can stay here another eight hours like we did in New York, and just enjoy each other’s company without killing each other.”
John Kruk’s advice on how to not get booed:
“If you don’t want to get booed, don’t suck.”
