Phillies first base/outfield prospect Felix Reyes missed the last month of the Triple-A season after being hit by a pitch and suffering a fractured wrist in mid-August. Reyes had his debut with Toros del Este in the Dominican Winter League delayed because of the injury but he was cleared to play and made his debut last Thursday.
Reyes is showing no ill effects of the injury with hits in all four games that he has played. Reyes has opened with a .429/.438/.571 slash line in 14 at-bats. Two of his six hits are doubles and he has already driven in four runs.
The 25-year-old was the Double-A Eastern League MVP in 2025 and followed that up with a 21-70-.287/.318/.511 season with Lehigh Valley in 2026. He also made his MLB debut in 2026, hitting .158 in 12 games with the Phillies. His debut at-bat was a memorable one as he homered off of Atlanta’s Chris Sale to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead. Reyes played for the Toros last winter and hit .246/.286/.474 with two home runs and nine RBI in 24 games.
Reyes is now teammates with outfielder Bryan De La Cruz, who made his debut with the Toros on Tuesday. Reyes is the reigning MVP of the Dominican Winter League.
The Phillies could take a long look at Reyes in Spring Training – whenever that is – as a right-handed hitting outfielder. He could potentially platoon with Brandon Marsh in left field, although Reyes, is one of the rare players who actually hit right-handed pitching better than he did left-handers in the minors last season. Reyes hit .296 against RHP and .246 against LHP and hit 19 of his 21 home runs against right-handed pitchers.
