Monday was a bad day for the Surprise Saguaros. They lost to the Salt River Rafters 20-4, giving up at least one run in every inning, giving up 19 hits, and committing four errors that led to three unearned runs.
Aidan Miller went 0-for-4 and saw his average dip to an even .300 (9-for-30). Dante Nori had one of the eight hits for Surprise with a seventh inning single. Nori is still struggling with a .118 (4-for-34) average this fall.
It turned out to be a forgettable outing for reliever Estibenzon Jimenez, who had been pitching well coming into this week’s games. Jimenez was hit for five earned runs on five hits and a walk in an inning of work. The right-hander came into the game with a 3.60 ERA and left the game with a 10.50 ERA in six innings. In his last two outings, Jimenez had pitched three innings and allowed seven earned runs on six hits and three walks; a 21.00 ERA.
