After wins in their first three games of the Arizona Fall League season, the Surprise Saguaros dropped their first game in a 7-2 loss to the Salt River Rafters.

The only Phillies position player in the lineup was infielder Aroon Escobar, who went 0-for-4 in the game.

Two Phillies pitchers made appearances with Kevin Warunek giving up a run on two hits in one inning of work in his Arizona Fall League debut. The lefty came on in the fourth with a runner on first and no outs. He retired the first batter he faced before giving up back-to-back RBI singles before getting out of the inning without any further damage.

Andrew Walling, who was a late addition to the Phillies contingent, threw a scoreless seventh inning, recording one strikeout. Walling took the place of Jose Pena Jr., who was sidelined with elbow discomfort back in June and is still in rehab phase. Like Pena, Walling missed most of the season when he was diagnosed with an elbow sprain back in May. Walling struggled through 11 games with Lehigh Valley before going on the IL and spending the summer rehabbing in Clearwater.

The Saguaros are off on Wednesday and return to the field Thursday against Scottsdale.
