With just seven games left in the regular season, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs have named pitcher Chuck King and first baseman Felix Reyes as the team’s Pitcher and Player of the Year for 2026.
King, 28, was signed by the Phillies as an undrafted free agent in February of 2024 and made three starts with Reading before being promoted to Lehigh Valley. Ironically, his final start for Reading saw him allow seven earned runs in four innings, but didn’t change the Phillies plans of elevating him to Triple-A.
The month of May was not kind to King, who posted a 6.00 ERA with Lehigh Valley, but he rebounded well and went 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA in three starts and one relief outing where he threw three shutout innings. For the season, King went 10-7, 3.97 in 22 starts (23 appearances).
Reyes was hit by a pitch on August 14 and suffered a fractured wrist that ended his season. In a procedural move to clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the Phillies recalled him and placed him on the 60-day IL.
Reyes made his Major League debut with the Phillies this season and hit .158 in 12 games with Philadelphia before being optioned back to Lehigh Valley. With the IronPigs, Reyes hit 21 home runs and drove in 70 runs while scoring 59 runs this season. He finished with a slash line of .287/.318/.511 for an .829 OPS in 85 games this season.
Reyes was the Double-A Eastern League MVP last season with Reading when he hit 15-65-.335/.365/.572 with 62 runs scored in 95 games.
The 25-year-old was signed as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic in February of 2020.
