Lehigh Valley IronPigs
16-15, 2.5 GB Worcester in IL East
While the parent club was sweeping a doubleheader from San Francisco, Lehigh Valley dropped both ends of a doubleheader in Syracuse (NY Mets). The IronPigs have now lost four straight games in Syracuse with a pair of afternoon games left to play in Syracuse.
Lehigh Valley is still looking for their first win under new manager Chris “Tank” Adamson, who took over for Anthony Contreras when “A.C.” was promoted to be the Phillies third base coach on Tuesday.
Carter Kieboom has been hitting the ball well over his past five games, hitting .438 (7-for-16) with a home run and a pair of doubles that have resulted in three runs scored and three RBI for Kieboom. Rob Moore (.364), Otto Kemp (.313), and Liover Peguero (.308) are the only other players hitting above the .300 mark for Lehigh Valley over their last five games.
Catcher/First Baseman Caleb Ricketts, who was hot on the IronPigs homestand last week, had an eight-game hitting streak snapped Friday against Syracuse. The streak started when Lehigh Valley was in St. Paul and continued through their home series against Durham and then into the first game at Syracuse with Ricketts hitting .375 (12-for-32) during the streak. Those numbers are boosted by a 6-for-10 stretch in two games early in the streak. Over his last five games, Ricketts is 4-for-16 (.250).
Since being bumped up from Double-A Reading, starter Chuck King has put together a pair of good starts. King has two starts with Lehigh Valley and a 3.27 ERA over 11 innings in those starts, with three walks and 11 strikeouts. Alan Rangel has put together a good start to the season with a 2.70 ERA and a 2-2 record in 26.2 innings of work. Rangel has spent a little time with the Phillies this season.
Bryce Wilson had a 12.71 ERA over his first three games this season and then allowed just one earned run in a six inning outing against Durham that lowered his ERA to 8.83. Unfortunately, Wilson was hit for seven unearned runs in five innings pitched in Syracuse, pushing the ERA back up to 9.67.
Nolan Hoffman (3.38), Seth Johnson (1.80), Trevor Richards (2.25), and Chase Shugart (1.80) have all been up with the Phillies now this season and have all pitched well out of the IronPigs bullpen. Shugart pitched in both ends of Thursday’s doubleheader for the Phillies and won both games.
Lou Trivino exercised the opt-out clause in his contract following Thursday’s doubleheader in Syracuse and is now a free agent. In 10 games, Trivino was 3-0, 2.77 in 10 games with Lehigh Valley, issuing four walks and striking out 20.

Reading Fightins
12-12, 2.5 GB, Behind New Hampshire in EL Northeast
Bryan Rincon has been collecting hits and walks for the Fightin’ Phils in their series at Hartford. Rincon is hitting .285/.550/.692 with a home run, four RBI, and six runs scored. His six walks against just two strikeouts have boosted him on-base percentage. On the season, the infield prospect is hitting .256/.385/.462 with three home runs and eight RBI. He has also stolen 12 bases in 14 attempts.
Austin Murr had a seven game hitting streak shutdown Tuesday night in Hartford, but picked it right back up and has hit in three straight since then. In the 11 game stretch, Murr is batting .282 (11-for-39) with Reading. His season average stands at .306.
Alex Binelas was named Reading’s Player of the Month for April. The soon-to-be 26-year-old leads the Eastern League in home runs with nine and has driven in 19 runs while scoring 16. Binelas hit 10 home runs last season and has a career-high of 25, which he accomplished back in 2022.
Right-hander Alex McFarlane got a one-day pass to join the Phillies when they needed an extra arm in the bullpen but he never worked his way into a game and was returned to the Fightins the next day. With a 1.08 ERA in nine relief appearances this season, McFarlane could at least get a bump up to Triple-A in the not too distant future.
After being cast off by Seattle, Cincinnati, and Baltimore, the Phillies hope that Levi Stoudt can pull things together in 2026. He has 10 days of MLB experience, but injuries and struggles have slowed his advancement. He pitched at Triple-A Norfolk all of last season, but the Phillies have him at Reading. A move to Lehigh Valley could also be coming for Stoudt, who is now 28, and has opened the season with nine innings without allowing an earned run. He has three walks and eight strikeouts over his seven relief outings.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws
12-12, 2.0 GB, Behind Hudson Valley in SAL North
The ‘Claws dropped a tough 5-4 game in 11 innings against Hudson Valley Wednesday night. They have come back to win the next two and tie up the series at two games each with the division leaders.
Raider Tello has hit safely in five of the last six games, including getting three hits in Friday’s win. The stretch has raised his average from .182 to .258 for Jersey Shore. Tello has driven in five runs during the stretch. Meanwhile, Brady Day has a six-game hitting streak during which he is batting .455 (5-for-11) with four home runs and six RBI. The four home runs account for all of Day’s home runs this season while the six RBI are half of his season total of 12.
Ryan Degges threw four shutout innings in relief against Hudson Valley on Wednesday and he needed it. The right-hander made a start in his previous game and threw two innings, allowing one earned run. He went out for the third inning and in a stretch of five batters, he gave up three home runs, a single, and also made an error that put the fifth hitter on base. On the bright side, he came back to strikeout the next two hitters before being yanked. Degges has a 4.26 ERA in three starts and a relief outing.
Luke Gabrysh surrendered his last start to Max Lazar, who was on a rehab assignment with the ‘Claws, but made it through just 0.1 innings and allowed three earned runs. Adilson Peralta cleaned up the mess with 0.2 innings of relief. Gabrysh came on to start the second inning and gave Jersey Shore four shutout innings, striking out seven batters along the way. Gabrysh had thrown four perfect innings against Brooklyn back on April 10, but also had an outing where he allowed seven earned runs in 3.1 innings. His season ERA is at 4.91.
