Lehigh Valley IronPigs

The IronPigs fell 13–5 to the Syracuse Mets in a game that unraveled late. Rodolfo Castro provided an early spark with a three-run homer in the second inning. Rafael Lantigua added an RBI single in the sixth, and a double steal in the seventh tied the game at 5–5, with Donovan Walton swiping home. However, the Mets exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the seventh, capitalizing on walks, singles, and a triple. Starter Andrew Painter threw 96 pitches over 5.1 innings, giving up eight hits – three of which were home runs – and one walk while striking out three. Nicholas Padilla took the loss, allowing four runs – two earned – in just two-thirds of an inning. Offensively, Castro and Lantigua stood out, but the pitching staff couldn’t contain Syracuse’s late surge.

Reading Fightin Phils

Reading’s scheduled game against the Chesapeake Baysox was postponed due to inclement weather. A doubleheader was scheduled for July 9.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws

Jersey Shore’s offense erupted for a season-high 14 runs, with every starter recording at least one hit. Five players – Aroon Escobar, Avery Owusu-Asiedu, Nick Biddison, Raylin Heredia, and Luis Caicuto – each tallied two hits. Eight of the nine starters drove in at least two runs, showcasing a balanced and relentless attack. Bryson Ware opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning, followed by a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and another RBI single from Bryan Rincon. The BlueClaws kept piling on with runs in nearly every inning, including a two-run single from Escobar in his debut and a pair of eighth-inning scores via an Elio Prado single and a passed ball. Owusu-Asiedu scored four times, just one shy of the club record, while Prado reached base four times with a hit and three walks. It was a complete team effort that leveled the season series with Aberdeen at nine games apiece.

On the mound, Gabriel Barbosa was stellar, allowing just one unearned run over five innings. He struck out five, walked two, and gave up only two hits. Barbosa improved to 2–0 and has now allowed just one earned run in 10.2 innings since joining Jersey Shore. His command and poise set the tone early, and the bullpen held firm to preserve the blowout.

Clearwater Threshers

Clearwater struggled offensively in a 7–1 loss to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels. The Threshers managed only two hits, failing to score until the ninth inning when Alirio Ferrebus grounded out to drive in Kodey Shojinaga. Starter Nathan Ray Dromboski allowed one run over 3.1 innings, while Kevin Warunek surrendered six runs in relief. Erik Ritchie closed out the game with two scoreless innings, striking out two and walking two. Despite the loss, Ritchie’s outing marked the longest scoreless appearance of his pro career.
