Remember the enthusiasm that surrounded the Phillies coming into the season and after they started the season 2-0? Hopefully, you can hold on to that feeling because for now, the Phillies have lost that feeling as they dropped their second straight game to the Marlins, giving them four straight losses and a 3-5 record.

OFFENSE: Those big bats that we were expecting to see from the Phillies still haven’t fully come out of their slumber, especially with runners in scoring position. The Phils went 0-for-9 Friday night with runners in scoring position, including 0-for-6 with two outs. Kyle Schwarber stranded three runners in scoring position and hit into a double-play during an 0-for-5 performance that sank his average to .094… Nick Castellanos hit his second HR of the season for the Phillies only run… Simon Muzziotti picked up his first major league hit with a base hit to left. He also made a couple of solid defensive plays, including throwing out a runner at second base… Matt Vierling (.063) got his first hit of the season, breaking an 0-for-15 streak… Alec Bohm chipped in with a pinch-hit single and is hitting .714 (5-for-7) with a .727 OBP and 1.000 SLG.
HR: Phil – Castellanos (2); MIA – none.
PITCHING: Zach Eflin (0-1, 4.50) struggled his way through four innings of work, throwing 81 pitches (49 strikes)… After a successful Phillies debut the other night when he saved the bullpen with three solid innings, Nick Nelson allowed three earned runs in two innings… Andrew Bellatti and Jeurys Familia both threw a shutout inning in relief.
WP: P. Lopez (1-0, 0.87), LP: Eflin (0-1, 4.50), SV: none
PHIL’ INS: Jeff Singer cleared waivers and was assigned back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley… To add P Andrew Bellatti to the roster, the Phillies moved P Sam Coonrod (shoulder strain) to the 60-day IL… Odubel Herrera (oblique) has played in three rehab games with Clearwater and is hitting .333 (4-for-12) with two doubles, and RBI and a run scored… Jean Segura (sore shoulder) missed his second straight game on Friday, replaced at second base by Bryson Stott, with Johan Camargo playing at third.
ON THE AGENDA: The Phillies and Marlins meet for the third of their four games in Miami Saturday night at 6:10 p.m. LHP Ranger Suarez (0-0, 10.13) starts for Philadelphia against LHP Trevor Rogers (0-1, 3.60).
