Lehigh Valley IronPigs
The IronPigs closed out their road schedule with a commanding 6–1 victory over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, reclaiming the IronRail trophy and tying the franchise record for wins in a season (85). Lehigh Valley jumped ahead early, with Rodolfo Castro delivering a two-run single in the first inning. In the third, Josh Breaux added an RBI double and Christian Arroyo followed with a run-scoring single to extend the lead to 4–0. Arroyo continued his productive day with another RBI single in the eighth, and Paul McIntosh chipped in with a sacrifice fly to cap the scoring.
On the mound, Gabe Mosser turned in one of his best outings of the season, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings. He allowed just three hits and four walks while striking out six. Seth Johnson and the bullpen preserved the lead, allowing only a single run in the ninth. The win was Mosser’s fourth of the season, and it came at a critical time as the IronPigs remain in contention for the International League’s best overall record. While it would not give Lehigh Valley a playoff spot, it would at least give them bragging rights. As for reaching the playoffs, the IronPigs have the smallest of chances to play postseason baseball as they trail Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by 5.5 games with six games left to play.
