Lehigh Valley IronPigs
The IronPigs closed out their home series against the Toledo Mud Hens with a lopsided 16–2 loss at Coca-Cola Park on Sunday. Mitch Neunborn (0–3, 7.54) started for Lehigh Valley and struggled, surrendering multiple runs early as Toledo broke the game open with two-run homers from Max Anderson and Riley Unroe. The IronPigs bullpen couldn’t stop the bleeding, allowing five more runs in the ninth inning alone. The IronPigs used six pitchers, none of whom escaped damage. Seth Johnson, who had earned a win the previous night, allowed two runs in relief. Nolan Hoffman pitched a clean ninth in a non-save situation.
Offensively, Lehigh Valley managed just two runs, scoring in the fourth and sixth innings. Payton Henry and Rafael Lantigua each contributed RBI singles, but the lineup was otherwise quiet, collecting only six hits and striking out nine times. Johan Rojas and Donovan Walton reached base twice, but the team failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities, going 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
The loss dropped Lehigh Valley to 81–55 on the season and 34–27 in the second half. They’ll begin their final road trip of the regular season next week against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Reading Fightin Phils
Reading earned a gritty 4–3 win over the Hartford Yard Goats in their final road game of the season at Dunkin’ Park. Bryson Ware opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the second inning, bringing home Caleb Ricketts, who had walked. Aidan Miller continued his standout campaign with a 2-for-4 day, including a stolen base – his 52nd – and a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh. Dylan Campbell also impressed, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two key throws from center field that cut down runners at home plate in both the second and fifth innings. Felix Reyes added a sacrifice fly in the third to score Miller, giving Reading a 3–1 lead before Hartford tied it in the fifth.
Relief pitching was the backbone of the win. Andrew Baker (1–1, 5.94) earned the victory with two strikeouts in a hitless inning. Tristan Garnett followed with three punchouts and one hit allowed, and Tommy McCollum closed the door with a perfect ninth for his ninth save.
Reading split the series with Hartford and improved to 52–78 overall. Their final homestand begins next week.
Jersey Shore BlueClaws
The BlueClaws ended their season with a tough 5–2 loss to the Brooklyn Cyclones at ShoreTown Ballpark. Jersey Shore led 2–1 entering the ninth, thanks to a fourth-inning triple by John Spikerman and a sacrifice fly from Avery Owusu-Asiedu. Raylin Heredia and Jose Colmenares each had multi-hit games, but the team stranded six runners and went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Starter Ryan Dromboski was brilliant, tossing five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and no walks, capping off his season with 11 consecutive scoreless frames. The bullpen held firm until the ninth, when Brooklyn rallied for four runs. A bases-loaded walk tied the game, followed by a two-run single and a throwing error that allowed a fifth run to score.
The loss snapped Jersey Shore’s five-game win streak and marked only their third defeat all season when leading in the ninth. Despite the loss, the BlueClaws finished the season strong and will open their 2026 campaign at home on April 8 against Brooklyn.
Clearwater Threshers
Clearwater’s regular season finale against the Tampa Tarpons was canceled due to rain and inclement weather at BayCare Ballpark. With the Florida State League playoff field already set, the game will not be rescheduled. Clearwater finished the regular season at 68–59 and clinched a playoff berth for the third consecutive year. The Threshers will begin postseason play on Tuesday, September 9, hosting the Lakeland Flying Tigers in the Division Series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
