The Phillies wrapped up their first round pick pitcher Gage Wood and second round pick Cade Obermueller. In addition, the Phillies have signed 15 other recent draftees leaving just three holdouts still to be signed.
Wood was given a $3-million signing bonus, just 0.49-million under slot for the 26th overall pick, which is where he fell in the draft. The University of Arkansas product threw a 19 strikeout no-hitter in this year’s College World Series against Murray State. Wood pitched as a reliever in his first two seasons at Arkansas and a shoulder injury limited his 2025 season to just 37.2 innings but he still found time to strike out 69 hitters and post a 3.82 ERA.
Obermueller, who pitched for the University of Iowa was taken with the 63rd overall pick in the draft. His signing bonus has not been announced.

Some players will then remain at the complex to continue working out while others will be assigned to minor league teams to start their playing careers. Wood in particular has been mentioned as a potential fast climber and will likely be one of the first out of camp.
