Lehigh Valley IronPigs
The IronPigs dropped a heartbreaker to the Syracuse Mets, 2–1, despite a brilliant outing from starter Gabe Mosser. Mosser tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just three singles and one walk while striking out four. He matched Syracuse’s Nolan McLean pitch-for-pitch, keeping the game locked until the seventh. Lehigh Valley broke through first when Donovan Walton singled through a drawn-in infield to score Cal Stevenson. The bullpen held firm through the eighth, with Adonis Medina and Nolan Hoffman each delivering perfect frames. However, Guillo Zuñiga faltered in the ninth, issuing two walks before surrendering back-to-back RBI singles to Drew Gilbert and Joey Meneses. Offensively, Walton’s clutch hit was the lone RBI, and the team managed just five hits overall. Despite the loss, Mosser’s outing was his best of the season and showcased his ability to command the zone and keep hitters off balance.
