Here’s a breakdown of how the Phillies’ minor league affiliates performed on Thursday:

Lehigh Valley IronPigs
The IronPigs dropped their third straight game, falling 6–1 to the Rochester Red Wings at Coca-Cola Park. Despite the loss, starting pitcher Nabil Crismatt delivered a solid outing, allowing just one run over five innings while striking out five and walking none. He threw 81 pitches, 55 for strikes, and kept the game close early. Offensively, Keaton Anthony continued his hot streak with his fifth multi-hit game of the season and third in a row. Gabriel Rincones Jr. drove in the IronPigs’ only run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the sixth inning. Unfortunately, the team went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base. The bullpen faltered late, allowing three runs across the final two innings, including a two-run single by Nick Schnell. Lehigh Valley’s offense managed six hits but couldn’t capitalize on multiple scoring opportunities. The IronPigs hold just a 1/2 game lead over Jacksonville in the race for the first half championship. The Pigs have three games remaining in the first half, while the Jumbo Shrimp have four games remaining.

Reading Fightin Phils
The Reading Fightin Phils dropped Wednesday’s game 6-4 to the Hartford Yard Goats. First baseman Alex Binelas recorded two home runs, but the Fightin Phils’ bullpen allowed three late runs.

Reading starter Griff McGarry returned to the mound in Reading for the first time since April 18. The fifth-round pick in the 2021 draft recorded three shutout starts to start the season but went on the shelf with an injury. He rehabbed with Clearwater and in his first game back with the Fightin Phils, McGarry worked 3.1 innings, allowing a single and three walks to go with three strikeouts and the two runs he allowed were unearned. It took McGarry 67 pitches, 37 for strikes, to get through the outing.

Binelas belted a solo home run into the bullpen in the bottom of the fifth, quickly retaking the lead for Reading with some opposite-field power. With Jack Dallas in now for the Fightin Phils, Hartford scraped together the tying run with some small ball, including a single and stolen base, then a sacrifice fly, followed by a groundball to second base that scored Zach Kokoska in the top of the sixth.

While McGarry exited early, Sullivan continued into the sixth as he recorded five strikeouts and added another with Moore for the second time. With his pitch count at just 60 through five innings, Sullivan remained strong from the left side. He needed just seven pitches to get Reading’s 2-3-4 hitters down and keep the game tied.

Binelas broke the tie with his second home run of the night, this time on his pull side. The two home runs for Binelas marked the fourth time in his career he blasted multiple in a game, and first since June 22, 2023, against the Fightin Phils for the Portland SeaDogs.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws
The BlueClaws’ scheduled game against the Hudson Valley Renegades was canceled due to rain and will not be made up. This was the final game of the first half of the season, so the cancellation stands without a reschedule. The series is set to resume Friday. Jersey Shore had been riding strong pitching performances in recent games, including a shutout win earlier in the series, but weather prevented them from building on that momentum.

Clearwater Threshers
Clearwater fell 7–2 to the Dunedin Blue Jays in the final game of the first half. Despite the loss, the Threshers showed resilience with a late offensive push. Starter Ryan Dromboski allowed just one run over three innings, striking out four and walking none. Reliever Luis Avila was a bright spot, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts and only one hit allowed. Offensively, the Threshers were held scoreless until the ninth inning, when Carter Mathison walked, Raider Tello singled, and Nikau Pouaka-Grego drove in a run with a double. Avery Owusu-Asiedu also contributed with a sacrifice fly. Dante Nori continued his hot streak with another hit, giving him five over his last two games. Clearwater recorded hits in all but two innings, showing consistent contact even if the runs didn’t follow.
