The Coca-Cola Park era is coming to an end for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Since their inaugural season of 2008, Lehigh Valley has played in Coca-Cola Park. The 20-year naming rights deal between the ‘Pigs and ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages comes to an end following the 2027 minor league season and will not continue past that point.

Coca-Cola will remain as a founding partner of the team and continue their participation in community and philanthropic efforts with the IronPigs. Coca-Cola has backed events such as the annual Phillies Winter Carnival, the IronPigs Charities Golf Outings, and other fundraisers. IronPigs Charities has given more than $3-million in cash grants to regional non-profit partners and hundreds of thousands of dollars of in-kind donations.

“We’ve been blessed to have a partner such as Coca-Cola who helped establish our efforts for the first 20 years of our ballpark’s legacy,” said IronPigs President and General Manager, Kurt Landes. “While I understand today’s announcement may carry some nostalgia for many who have a strong emotional connection to the ballpark, it’s an opportunity to celebrate Coca-Cola and their contribution to our fans and the entire region over two decades. We will begin a deliberate and thoughtful approach to finding a new naming rights partner who will carry on the legacy Coca-Cola started and shares our commitment to community impact as we plan for our next successful chapter.”

The financial portion of the original deal was never disclosed, but industry insiders say that minor league stadium naming rights can be lucrative deals for teams. The initial deal technically began in 2007 and was extended in 2015 to take it through the 20 seasons anniversary of the IronPigs playing in the Lehigh Valley.

One question is: What will happen to the historic much larger than life Coke bottle on top of the video board? When the IronPigs score a run, the bottle shakes, the cap opens, and fireworks shoot out of the top of the bottle.
