For Brewer Hicklen the 2025 season was like no other. The near 30-year-old outfielder traveled the minor league circuit last season and spent time with six different teams, the last of which was the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. His season started in major league camp with the Milwaukee Brewers before he was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. The next stop was being sent to the Tigers in a cash deal and he bounced between Triple-A Toledo and Detroit a couple of times and then went to High-A where he played for the West Michigan White Caps. Not long after being moved back to Toledo, the Tigers designated him for assignment and then sold his contract to the Phillies, who sent him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in late July. He got to put down some roots there until the end of the season when he became a free agent.
His limited foray to the majors with the Tigers in 2025 was his third trip to the majors where he has played in 10 games. In one game with Detroit last season, he went 2-for-3 and was then sent back to Toledo. Overall, Hicklen is a .167 (2-for-12) hitter in the majors and has struck out 9 times in 13 plate appearances. With Lehigh Valley, the right-handed hitter played in 32 games with an 8-31-.227/.293/.437/.730 line.
