The rosters for the annual “Fall Stars” game, the moniker for the Arizona Fall League All-Star Game, were announced this week. The only Phillies prospect named to the roster was pitcher Jack Dallas (0-1, 1.00). The teams are divided into an American League squad and a National League squad meaning that members of the Surprise Saguaros, where the Phillies prospects are assigned will actually be playing against each other.

In the standings, Surprise (16-8) trails Scottsdale (18-8) by one game with the end of the regular season coming on Wednesday. Perhaps more importantly, the Saguaros can finish no lower than second which means they receive a first round bye. All six teams qualify for the postseason with the bottom four teams playing in the quarterfinals. Each round is one game and the way things stand now, the Saguaros would play the winner of the Mesa/Salt River game in the semifinals on Friday. The AFL championship game will be played on Saturday.

Here’s a look at the Phillies prospects:

Dylan Campbell – The outfield prospect went just 1-for-6 in two games this week, but scored two runs and drove in three. Campbell drove in two runs in Friday’s 11-2 win over the Salt River Rafters with a sacrifice fly and a bases loaded walk. On the season, Campbell, 23, is hitting 3-14-.240/.373/.500/.873.

Dante Nori – November in the desert has been kind to Nori, who is batting .455 (5-for-11) in three games this month and has a five game hitting streak to his credit. Nori hit a two-run inside the park home run on Thursday against the Salt River Rafters. On the season, Nori, 21, is hitting: 1-7-.375/.459/.531/.990.

Bryan Rincon – You have to hand it to this guy. He keeps running out there even though he doesn’t have a lot of good results to show for it. He had a weird game on Thursday when he went 0-for-3, but scored three times and drove in a run. He scored twice after drawing walks and scored his third run when he hit into a fielder’s choice. The RBI also came on a fielder’s choice, the second one he hit into in the game. On the season, Rincon, 21, is hitting: 1-6-.075/.213/.150/.363.

Eiberson Castellano – The right-hander allowed one run in four innings in his last start last Sunday. On the season, Castellano, 24, is 2-1, 3.86 in four starts with seven walks and 18 strikeouts in 14 innings of work.

Jack Dallas – Dallas is healthy, but has not pitched in a game in a week. He could pitch in Sunday’s Fall-Stars Game. On the season, Dallas, 26, is 0-0, 1.00 in four outings, one of which was a start. In nine innings, the righty has walked seven and struck out 15.

Jaydenn Estanista – After a couple of tough outings, Estanista has pitched well. He has not allowed a hit in his last three outings. On the season, Estanista, 24, is 0-0, 6.43 in seven relief appearances. In seven innings he has walked seven and struck out nine.

Daniel Harper – The righty was touched for a run in his one inning outing on Friday. Up until that outing, all four of the earned runs Harper had allowed in the AFL came in one relief appearance. In his five other appearances coming into Friday, Harper had not allowed a run. On the season, Harper, 26, is 0-0, 6.75 with six walks and six strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

Tommy McCollum – The right-hander allowed two hits in his latest outing on Thursday, but did not allow a run. In six relief outings, McCollum is 2-0, 3.18 with three walks and six strikeouts in 5.2 innings.

You may notice that a number of the Phillies pitchers have a high walk rate in the AFL. It’s worth noting that the AFL is using the Automated Ball/Strike (ABS) challenge system for balls and strikes. That at least somewhat eliminates the idea of poor umpiring.
