The Surprise Saguaros (9-4) have moved back on top of the Arizona Fall League (AFL) standings by a half-game over the Scottsdale Scorpions (9-5). The return to the top comes thanks to a four-game winning streak by the Saguaros, including sweeping a doubleheader against the Glendale Desert Dogs.

Dante Nori missed two weeks of action, but is back in the lineup. The outfield prospect has gone 0-for-5 with two walks and three strikeouts in his two games back. He is now a combined 1-for-7 (.143) in the AFL. Bryan Rincon opened the AFL season with an 0-for-13 collar before snapping that with a first inning home run on Tuesday with Nori, who had walked to open the game, on base. While it’s not much, Rincon is now 2-for-21 (.095) for Surprise. Dylan Campbell hit his third home run of the season on Wednesday which ties him with four other players for second in the league. Pirates 21-year-old outfield prospect Esmerlyn Valdez, who played at Double-A in 2025, is tearing up the league with an 8-18-.517 (15-for-29)/.674/1.379/2.053 line in 11 games. He has also drawn 15 walks and struck out just five times.

Among the pitchers, Jack Dallas has not pitched in eight days, and Eiberson Castellano has not pitched since his last start on October 18. No injuries have been reported and it’s not unusual for teams to keep a player out of the lineup to work on something away from games. Dallas has thrown five shutout innings for Surprise. Jaydenn Estanista, a 24-year-old right-hander, struck out the side in an inning of work in Tuesday’s doubleheader. He did walk a batter in the inning, but did not surrender a hit. His ERA is slowly falling and is now down to 7.36 in three relief outings. Daniel Harper threw a clean inning against the Mesa Solar Sox to bounce back from an outing in which he allowed four earned runs in 0.2 innings. Another righty, Tommy McCollum, gave up a run in a one inning outing and saw his ERA jump from 2.70 to 4.15 in the early going.
