Sometimes, you have to tip your cap to an opposing player. The Los Angeles Dodgers did that when they added a plaque commemorating Schwarber’s 455-foot home run in the National League Division Series to plaques commemorating other historic home runs at Dodgers Stadium.

Kyle Schwarber‘s 455-foot home run at Dodgers Stadium in Game 3 of the 2025 NLDS.

Schwarber’s blast came against Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 3 of the NLDS, which was the only game in the series won by the Phillies. Schwarber is just the second left-handed hitting player to have their blast commemorated at Dodgers Stadium. The other was Willie Stargell, who is the only player to have hit two home runs out of the stadium.

BrAInley Remembers: Willie Stargell also had a home run at Veterans Stadium commemorated. On June 25, 1971, Stargell hit a 458-foot home run against Phillies pitcher Jim Bunning. “It was majestic,” Larry Bowa said. “It would take me three swings to get one up there—from second base.” The ball hit off of the facing of a hallway. The Phillies originally painted a white circle with a black “S” within a yellow star where the ball hit. When Stargell passed away, the Phillies painted the circle black to mark his death. The star was in the 600 Level seating area of Veterans Stadium. The piece of concrete on which the star was painted was not saved when The Vet was imploded in 2004. Stargell was honored with a yellow seat in the 300 club deck at Olympic Stadium in Montreal to commemorate the 535-foot home run he hit on May 20, 1978. The seat has since been moved to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
