After becoming just the 21st player in Major League Baseball history to hit four home runs in a game, Kyle Schwarber had to share the National League Player of the Week honors with the Giants Rafael Devers. Schwarber last won the Player of the Week honors last September.

The fact that Schwarber hit four home runs and drove in nine runs against the Braves and Devers hit three home runs and drove in 10 runs for the week, is interesting. When you run the full numbers though, it does make some sense. For the week, Schwarber had no other home runs and only one other RBI and hit .214. Devers, who earlier this season won an AL Player of the Week award when he was with the Red Sox, hit 3-10-.478 for San Francisco.

On the season, Schwarber has hit 49 home runs and has driven in 119 runs, both career highs. The Phillies DH is batting .243 this season in 139 games. Devers is hitting a combined 30-97-.262 with Boston and San Francisco. Schwarber is a free agent following the season while Devers is signed through the 2033 season for an average annual value of $31.35-million.
