Lehigh Valley IronPigs

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs capped off a dominant week with a 5–4 victory over the Durham Bulls on Sunday, completing a six-game sweep – their first such sweep in nearly two years. The offense was powered by home runs from Justin Crawford and Brewer Hicklen. Crawford’s solo shot in the fourth inning narrowed an early 2–0 deficit, while Hicklen’s seventh-inning blast extended the lead to 4–2. The IronPigs added a crucial insurance run in the eighth, which proved decisive after Durham rallied for two runs in the ninth. Otto Kemp and Rafael Lantigua continued their productive series, with Kemp driving in a run via sacrifice fly and Lantigua scoring the game-winning run. Johan Rojas had a pair of hits to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. The IronPigs improved to 73–52 on the season and 27–24 in the second half, riding a wave of momentum into their next series.

On the mound, starter Alan Rangel delivered a decent outing, allowing three earned runs over 5.1 innings while striking out six. The bullpen was effective, with Nolan Hoffman earning the win after a scoreless inning of relief and Max Lazar securing the save despite allowing two runs in the ninth. The IronPigs’ pitching staff held Durham scoreless in six of nine innings.

Reading Fightin Phils

The Reading Fightin Phils fell 8–6 to the Altoona Curve in a rain-shortened contest. The game was called in the top of the sixth inning because of rain, resulting in a split of the six-game series. Despite the loss, Reading’s offense showed flashes of strength, with Robert Moore leading the way with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. Caleb Ricketts extended his hit streak to 13 games – the longest by any Fightin Phil this season – with a double and an RBI. Aidan Miller continued his strong week with a single and a double, while Paul McIntosh and Felix Reyes each contributed a hit and a run scored. Bryson Ware and Cade Fergus also crossed the plate, and Nick Dunn added another hit to his season tally.

Pitching was less effective. Starter Griff McGarry lasted just 3.2 innings, surrendering six runs (four earned) while walking three and striking out five. Gabriel Barbosa followed and allowed two runs without giving up a hit, issuing three walks. John McMillon walked two and allowed an inherited runner to score. The bullpen struggled with control, issuing eight walks in total.

The Fightin Phils will return to action on Tuesday against the Chesapeake Baysox.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws

Jersey Shore dominated the Hudson Valley Renegades 9–1, closing out their series with three straight wins. The BlueClaws exploded for five runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by Raylin Heredia’s three-run homer off Cade Smith. John Spikerman added a sacrifice fly, and Kehden Hettiger drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the inning. In the fifth, Kodey Shojinaga drove in a run with a single, followed by Jose Colmenares’ two-run homer against his former team. The offense was relentless, adding a ninth run in the sixth on Hettiger’s RBI double. Colmenares finished with two hits, while Heredia tallied three RBIs. Shojinaga and Hettiger each contributed multiple RBI, showcasing a balanced attack.

Pitching was equally impressive. Starter Ryan Dromboski earned his first win with Jersey Shore, allowing just one run over five innings. He struck out three batters and kept Hudson Valley off balance. Alex McFarlane followed with two scoreless innings, and the trio of Jose Pena, Cristhian Tortosa, and Titan Kennedy-Hayes closed out the final two frames without incident. The staff allowed only four hits and one walk, stifling Hudson Valley’s offense after the fifth inning.

The BlueClaws improved to 30–23 and will begin a six-game series in Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Clearwater Threshers

The Clearwater Threshers’ scheduled game against the Jupiter Hammerheads was canceled due to rain and inclement weather at BayCare Ballpark. The game will not be made up, as Jupiter will not return to Clearwater until the 2026 season.

The cancellation followed a dramatic 12-inning loss the previous night, in which Clearwater nearly completed a comeback. The Threshers will begin a six-game road series against the Daytona Tortugas on Tuesday.
