Lehigh Valley IronPigs

The IronPigs continued their thrilling week with a 5-4 walk-off win over the Durham Bulls in ten innings. Payton Henry sealed the victory with a perfectly placed bunt that forced a throwing error, allowing Rafael Lantigua to score the winning run. This marked Lehigh Valley’s third walk-off win of the week and extended their win streak to six games.

Offensively, the IronPigs showed resilience. Otto Kemp delivered a clutch sacrifice fly in the ninth to tie the game after Durham had taken a late lead. Earlier in the contest, Justin Crawford and Kemp had contributed with RBI hits, and Payton Henry added an RBI double. Both Johan Rojas and Donovan Walton extended their hitting streaks to nine straight games.

On the mound, Gabe Mosser started and threw six innings allowing one earned runs on five hits. The right-hander did not walk a batter and struck out five. Michael Mercado blew a save opportunity for Lehigh Valley, but Phil Bickford threw a scoreless top of the 10th to get the win.

The IronPigs improved to 72-52 overall and 26-24 in the second half. Their ability to capitalize on late-game opportunities and maintain composure under pressure has been a defining trait during this series against Durham.

Reading Fightins

Reading’s three-game win streak came to an end with a 4-2 loss to the Altoona Curve. Despite the defeat, the Fightins showcased early offensive promise and solid bullpen work.

Aidan Miller continued his standout series with a three-hit performance, including a ground-rule double that drove in two runs in the second inning. Miller also swiped his 49th base of the season, underscoring his all-around impact. Dylan Campbell and Leandro Pineda set the table with a pair of hits, and Miller’s timely double gave Reading a 2-0 lead.

Braydon Tucker made his Double-A debut and took the loss, allowing four earned runs on five hits over five innings. Altoona rallied in the fourth and fifth innings, capitalizing on a throwing error and hits from Oneil Cruz and Konnor Griffin. Reading’s bullpen was a bright spot. Gunner Mayer tossed two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, and Andrew Bechtold followed with another clean frame, fanning two. Their efforts kept the Fightins within striking distance, but the offense couldn’t mount a comeback.

Reading fell to 47-40 overall and 22-28 in the second half. They’ll look to bounce back in the series finale with Griff McGarry on the mound.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws

The BlueClaws rolled to an 8-3 win over the Hudson Valley Renegades, powered by a five-run third inning and a solid outing from starter Luke Gabrysh. The win marked Jersey Shore’s second straight and improved their second-half record to 29-23.

Offensively, Kehden Hettiger sparked the rally with a two-run triple in the third. Joel Dragoo and Avery Owusu-Asiedu followed with RBI singles, and John Spikerman drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the inning. Zach Arnold added a solo home run in the fifth, his ninth of the season, giving the BlueClaws a comfortable lead. Farqhuar, Dragoo, and Arnold each collected two hits, contributing to a balanced offensive attack. The BlueClaws’ ability to string together hits and capitalize on scoring opportunities was key to their victory.

Gabrysh earned the win in his ShoreTown Ballpark debut, allowing three runs – two earned – over five innings. He struck out five batters and did not allow a walk in the outing. A.J. Wilson and Erik Ritchie made their BlueClaws debuts with scoreless innings in relief, while Wesley Moore closed out the eighth and ninth without allowing a run.

They’ll wrap up the series on Sunday with Ryan Dromboski set to start.

Clearwater Threshers

Clearwater suffered a heartbreaking 7-6 loss in twelve innings to the Jupiter Hammerheads. Despite trailing 6-2 entering the seventh, the Threshers rallied to tie the game, only to fall short in extras.

Raider Tello was the offensive catalyst, scoring twice and driving in two runs, including a game-tying single in the eighth. Tyler Pettorini added two RBI, one on a sacrifice fly and another on a fielder’s choice that led to a throwing error. Carter Mathison reached base three times and scored twice, while Luke Davis and Manolfi Jimenez contributed with key walks and runs.

Camron Hill started and allowed five runs on four hits over four innings, walking five and striking out four. Luis Avila followed with three innings of one-run ball, despite issuing four walks. Danny Wilkinson was sharp in relief, tossing two hitless innings with two strikeouts. Danyony Pulido took the loss, surrendering an unearned run in the twelfth.

Clearwater loaded the bases in both the eleventh and twelfth innings but couldn’t push across the winning run. The defeat dropped them to 65-52 overall and 29-22 in the second half. They’ll aim to split the series in Sunday’s finale.
