Bryce Harper followed Kyle Schwarber to the plate at Citizens Bank Park Wednesday night and also followed Schwarber’s result when he launched a home run to right field. The home runs came on back-to-back pitches from Lucas Giolito. Harper’s blast traveled 439 feet and had an exit velocity of 110.8 miles per hour, both of which are season high numbers for the Phillies first baseman. The home run made Harper the youngest active player to reach the 350 career home run mark and the eighth active player in baseball to reach the mark.

Schwarber’s home run went 409 feet with an exit velocity of 103.2 miles per hour and gave the Phillies an early 2-0 lead before Harper stretched the lead to 3-0 against Giolito and the Boston Red Sox. Nick Castellanos, Bryson Stott, and J.T. Realmuto also homered in the game, which the Phillies lost 9-8 in 11 innings. Schwarber now has 34 home runs on the season, Harper has 14, Castellanos 13, Stott 7, and Realmuto 6 on the season.

“Yeah, pretty awesome, obviously on an individual note,” Harper told reporters. “Super happy about it.”

Giolito gave up four home runs in four innings of work. The pitch to Harper was a fastball that stayed over the middle of the plate.

The other active players who have reached the 350 home run mark in Major League Baseball are: Giancarlo Stanton (434), Mike Trout (395), Paul Goldschmidt (370), Manny Machado (360), Freddie Freeman (353), Nolan Arenado (351), and Aaron Judge (351).
