Lehigh Valley IronPigs
Lehigh Valley outslugged the Syracuse Mets 11–9 in a wild contest that featured 26 combined hits. The IronPigs exploded for six runs in the first inning, sparked by Keaton Anthony’s RBI single and capped by Cal Stevenson’s two-run double. Rafael Lantigua added a two-run single in the seventh, and Weston Wilson chipped in with an RBI double. Stevenson finished with four RBI and two doubles, while Lantigua drove in three and scored twice. The offense tallied 13 hits and drew six walks. On the mound, Nabil Crismatt earned the win with five innings of three-run ball, striking out four. Nolan Hoffman recorded his first save, stranding the tying run at the plate in the ninth. Despite a pair of late homers from Syracuse’s Francisco Alvarez, the IronPigs held on for their 54th win of the season.
Reading Fightin Phils
Reading split a doubleheader with the Chesapeake Baysox. In Game 1, Jean Cabrera pitched six strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out six. He improved to 4–4 and lowered his ERA to 3.98. Offensively, Alex Binelas drove in Aidan Miller with a first-inning single, and Paul McIntosh added an RBI double in the second. Caleb Ricketts contributed a run-scoring single in the sixth to seal the 3–2 win. In Game 2, Reading fell 8–3. Mitch Neunborn gave up six runs, including three homers, over four innings. Hendry Mendez provided the lone highlight with a two-run homer in the sixth. Carson DeMartini doubled and scored, while Cade Fergus, Erick Brito, and Robert Moore each singled in the seventh. Despite the loss, Reading’s bullpen held Chesapeake scoreless over the final two innings.
Jersey Shore BlueClaws
Jersey Shore rode a dominant outing from Braydon Tucker and three home runs to a 4–1 win over Aberdeen. Tucker retired 17 straight batters after a first-inning single, finishing with seven scoreless innings, two hits allowed, and six strikeouts. It was the longest outing by a BlueClaws pitcher this season. Bryson Ware opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first. In the sixth, Kehden Hettiger and Ware hit back-to-back solo homers, the first time Jersey Shore accomplished that feat since August 2024. Zach Arnold added a solo shot in the ninth, his sixth of the season. Ware finished with three hits, while Hettiger and Arnold each had two. The BlueClaws improved to 8–12 in the second half and clinched a series win heading into the All-Star break.
Clearwater Threshers
Clearwater fell 7–2 to Fort Myers despite a strong bullpen effort and a milestone homer. Starter Sam Highfill allowed four runs over four innings, including a three-run blast in the first. Zack Tukis struck out five in two innings but gave up three more runs. Erik Ritchie and Marty Gair combined for three shutout innings, with Gair striking out the side in the ninth. Offensively, TJayy Walton drove in Carter Mathison with a groundout in the third, and John Spikerman launched a solo homer in the sixth, his first at BayCare Ballpark. Spikerman extended his hitting streak to five games and has now scored in back-to-back contests. Brady Day added a ninth-inning single, but Clearwater couldn’t mount a late rally.
