Sometimes, company comes to visit for a few days and you can’t wait to see them leave. That’s not the case with the Colorado Rockies (4-15) and Chicago White Sox (3-16), who have both been visitors at Citizens Bank Park lately. The two teams are welcome in pretty much every ballpark in the majors, with the possible exception of their own. Alec Bohm especially enjoyed the visit of the White Sox Friday night as he launched a pair of three-run home runs in his first two at-bats.

Spencer Turnbull also enjoyed the visit as he kept Chicago off the scoreboard in both the runs and hits columns for six innings before Gavin Sheets singled in the seventh to end the no-hitter. Turnbull was given a standing ovation for his efforts and Bohm was called out of the dugout by the fans for a curtain call after his efforts.

Bohm had two home runs against the Nationals last July and the hope is that his big night against the Sox will be the catalyst to truly get him rolling this season. The 27-year-old third baseman raised his average from .242 to .258 with his big night and Turnbull dropped his ERA from 1.80 to 1.23 with his effort.

The schedule brought the two worst teams in baseball – Colorado and Chicago – to town for back-to-back series and the Phillies (12-8) are enjoying it, having won all four games that have been played against the two cellar dwellers.

Wearing their “city connect” uniforms for just the second time, Bohm and Turnbull weren’t the only two Phillies to connect with the city. Whit Merrifield hit his first home run as a Phillie in the 7-0 win Friday night and Trea Turner doubled ahead of Bohm’s second home run to extend his streak of games with an extra-base hit to six straight.

If things weren’t bad enough for the White Sox, they now get to face Zack Wheeler (0-3, 3.00) and Aaron Nola (2-1, 3.47) in consecutive games to wrap up the series.
