Dalton Guthrie was indeed the odd-man-out thanks to the Phillies acquisition of outfielder Cristian Pache. The Phillies kept Guthrie on the roster for Opening Day, but following the 11-7 loss to Texas, the Phillies optioned Guthrie to Lehigh Valley and added Pache to the 26-man roster.

Technically, this was the first time in his career that Guthrie made an Opening Day roster. He made his MLB debut last season with the Phillies and put up a line of 1-5-.333/.500/.476 in 28 plate appearances. His MLB debut came on September 6 after he spent the season at Lehigh Valley and hit 10-52-.302/.363/.476 at Triple-A in 92 games.

Guthrie will join the IronPigs, who open their season Friday in Rochester, NY.
